MERRY CHRISTMAS To ALL!

From (people) Stef – Tiff – Nick – (horses) Yellow, Dante, RedRox, BlackJax, Badger, Fergie, Sunday, Renee, Miracle…. And from (dogs) Sporty, Skip, Ariel, Buel and Lefty… and from (cats) MoMo, Heed, Angel, Squizz, Pizz, Thizz, Fizz, Lily, Zack, Calamity, Blondie, Puff, white Boy, Red Eye, 3Louise and White Tip… and finally … (the birds)… Cotton, and Kalani!

 

DANTE at the show! WE have a new JACK RUSSEL- SKIP… he’s a riot!

A STUPENDOUS HORSE year! My black stallion WHISPERIN DARK DESTINY aka "Dante", won the CAFQHR GRAND CHAMPION HALTER STALLION class at the Tulare, Ca show! It was the best! My 2 yr old filly (red roan) won RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION HALTER MARE the same day! That was awesome also! This was for FQHR registered horses only- this was specific to the breed standards for AQHA (American Quarter Horse Assoc.) Which my grandma Hazel Kjeldergaard had a registered horse back in the 1950/60’s for my dad! Nick is the 4th generation AQHA Kjeldergaard member!

The winning didn’t stop with HALTER- my mare WHISPERIN YELLOW MOON (a granddaughter of the great YELLOW MOUNT) took me to a bunch of blue ribbons in gymkhana classes. Pole bending, barrels, and a few other patterns! What FUN!! She is awesome, I raised her from the minute she came outta her mama! She’s resting now- her baby is due in April.

If that ain’t enough… Stef bought me a 2007 HD-Street Glide motorcycle to run around on. What FUN! I sold the 2006 Sportster and became a bagger! (that means I have a bike with saddlebags) I have done 115 mph on it also…and that’s quick! STEF got a 2007 Electro Glide Ultra Classic (Pic above w/ my Grandpa) which is a luxury ride! Harley Davidson loves us this year! Stef spent about 100 days on the road this year (for work) he goes all over the U.S. and collects me postcards!

We had 3 foals born this year! We had 2 AQHA fillies and an APHA (American Paint Horse) filly as well…We had a litter of Jack Russel pups, as we don’t raise Olde English Bulldogs anymore. We lost our beloved Marissa (Olde English Bulldog) to a horrible accident due to a neighbor speeding in April.

A new cow has joined the pastures, yes sorry to say, she goes to butcher in spring, for those of you who want organic beef, come see us!

HEED the MINI MEW is in the 2008 RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT BOOK.

He looks so cute! We have a few very small cats and are on to a genetic pedigree to start a new breed category! This is very exciting. Look him up on the internet! Nick is holding him in above picture.

FIRE FIRE FIRE.. all you so. Cal folks know what I mean….We inched away with everything in tact, not before a furious rush to cram 15 horses into a 6 horse trailer…. We had 10 minutes to get out. No power or access to leave Potrero for over a week. A few locals lost their lives, some just their homes. We had guests, the LT Gov of the Kiwanis in Calif/Nev/Hawaii stayed with us for that time. Their place burned and they had to get out- I train their horses and we got them out as the fire strike crew was rollin up the driveway to try to save his place. They did, but the fire went over the rest of his place! Potrero Valley Rd turns into Harris Ranch Rd, (the origin of the Harris Fire.)

Nick graduated school and is gonna be 18 in Feb and I am getting him his first truck. We all remember the freedom of the open road! He is getting a huge Christmas this year ( he doesn’t know it yet) as I am very happy about his school accomplishment. He wants to do welding classes in college; he will start classes in spring if all goes well.
